Kanan Biri.

A reflection of the spiritual world.

Latest from the build: [Month 2026]

The name comes from the Shipibo language. The family translates it as reflejo del mundo espiritual: a reflection of the spiritual world.

For the Shipibo, the visible world mirrors a spiritual one. The name holds that idea.

The land

Where Kanan Biri stands.

Kanan Biri is in the Peruvian Amazon, at kilometre 45 of the Iquitos–Nauta road, outside the city of Iquitos.

We will share the exact location here soon.

Guests always receive full directions and pickup details before they travel.

The maloka

Our maloka.

Coming soon

A maloka is a traditional Shipibo ceremony house: a round house of wooden posts under a woven leaf roof. Miguel's family is building Kanan Biri's own maloka with their own hands.

Until it is finished, retreats are held in the family's ceremony room. When it opens, every ceremony will move there.
